Re: Small businesses
Just like stores and small merchants have small Visa/Mastercard/etc signs to show they accept credit cards, it would be nice if there was a symbol shops could put near registers or on store fronts that shows they take EVM. It might even get customers excited to shop there just so they can FINALY use the payment feature.

Re: Small businesses
A lot of banks have competing solutions with Square as well. But Square seems to have hit on something with their pricing strategy. They are now offering EMV-capable card readers for very little money upfront. It's a cheap way for small businesses to make the shift to EMV, something that the larger retailers will be doing over the course of 2015. In a couple of years customers are going to start getting used to EMV transactions, so the small businesses will need a way to catch up.

Small businesses
I do most of my live shopping at small businesses around the holidays, opting to order more commercial stuff online. Small businesses seem like an easy place to begin with mobile commerce since they were pioneers of things like Square. I wonder how many terminals I will see this year.
