Thanks for you comment!

100% agree that banks need to listen to customers more. I would also say this applies not just to banks, but also to retailers in general. If we're not providing a great experience, customers will go elsewhere to fulfill their needs, be it another retailer or online. As bankers, we only have so much time until the branch experience - at least as it is today - becomes irrelevant. Our next generation of customers have the same needs (checking, savings, retirement, mortgages, etc), but the way in which they want to be served is completely different. Let's hope we figure it out sooner than later.

That Apple store experience has been around for  along time though. And banks still haven't made any major adjustments to try and meet that standard. I'm not sure what it'll take to get them moving on that.

The branch of the future
While I think there is still a need for the in-person service that branches provide, it's time for banks to reconsider how they offer that service in light of changing customer expectations. Nobody wants to wait in a long line at the bank, only to be helped by someone who can't answer all their questions or gives them a paper packet of information to take home. The Apple experience is a good example of the fast, personalized service that younger banking customers want.
