I agree, there's an appropriate time for each. For example, I'm happy to receive the occasional text from Starbucks alerting me to discounts or promos, but when it comes to urgent matters like fraud notifications, I would much rather receive a phone call.

I toally agree. There is definitely a time when a text notification is more convenient, but in somce instances a customer needs to hear a himan voice.
