True, FS companies are still a bit behind, but starting to catch up a bit with the adoption of analytics and mobile. They're going to have to move fast, though, to keep pace with other industries. Developing a better understanding of their customers and creating products to suit individuals' needs is a good way to do that. Clearly the restaurant sector is ahead with the development of services like Pizza Mogul - personally, I'd like to see that platform make its way to the US!

Thanks for the post, interesting commentary. It does seem like fianncial services is a bit behind some other industries in terms of evolving the dynamics of customer experience using technology. It's obviously happening to some extent, but probably not as much as in other industries.
