Excellent comments, Nathan. Perhaps geolocation policies will also vary depending upon whether it's a corporate-issued device, as with Simplicity Bank, or a BYOD situation. In the latter, there are other MDM technologies that can keep corporate data secure on a BYOD device - thus obviating the need for geolocation.

The geolocation point is interesting Gă÷ surely banks have a keen interest in knowing where exactly all devices that can access their network are located Gă÷ but does that trump the owner's right to privacy? Maybe a solution is to only allow access to the network if geolocation is turned on Gă÷ then it can be used as needed while still allowing some work-life balance.
