This is a really great example of technology supporting the business goals. I can't say I'm surprised to see Charlie and his team finding a great way to help the credit union after interviewing him for his Elite 8 profile last year. They are really doing great work down there. And actually since you mention it Greg Bueller came out on the day I was born, Nov 18, 1986. I like to think I share the same birthday as Ferris.

Most Univ of Central Florida students would probably want to sit in a 3-hour lecture by Ben Stein (Bueller, Bueller?) than go into a bank branch. Come to think of it, I think I feel the same. Though, most undergrads weren't born when that movie came out.

Having the capability to do account origination from a mobile device is key for any bank, and this initiative is especially interesting as they are targeting a demographic that likely isn't used to, or never have, waited on line in a branch to do anything.

This is a great example of how small institutions can be as innovative and aggressive as large FIs and in fact may have some competitive advantage over larger institutions because of their ability to really get close to the customer and forge lasting relationships, as Fairwinds has with the university.
