CashEdge 2007 Consumer Online Banking Study
Overview: CashEdge, a provider of innovative online financial applications for banks, credit unions and wealth management firms commissioned its second annual Consumer Online Banking Survey to examine the online banking behavior and preferences of consumers. The survey focuses on: • Consumer interest in online banking services; • Demand for immediate services, e.g. online account opening and funds transfer; • Frequency and preference of online banking usage as compared with branch; and • The perception of security in online banking. The survey polled more than 400 consumer “heads-of-household” nationwide who use online banking capabilities. These respondents described themselves as bank customers (79%), credit union members (18%) and customers of “direct/virtual banks” (3%). The margin of error for the survey is five percent. Conducted by the independent research firm Zoomerang, the national study was administered online in September 2007.
