A series of bomb blasts that occurred during rush hour today in Mumbai, India's financial capital, have killed at 13 people and injured more than 81 individuals, according to CNN. The explosions happened in the Dadar, Opera House and Zaveri Bazaar areas. According to Home Minister P. Chidambaram, the entire city of Mumbai has been placed on "high alert."

The bombings raise new concerns about terrorism. In 2008, Pakistan-based militants killed more than 160 people in a coordinated terrorist attack.
