Diebold (North Canton, Ohio) released identiCenter, an integrated system for identity verification and branch traffic management built around U.S. Biometrics' (Naperville, Ill.) fingerprint-reading hardware and software. Upon initiating a transaction at the teller station, enrolled customers place their finger on an optical-scan fingerprint reader to verify their identities. Once verified, account information appears on the teller's screen.

Online foreign exchange platform FXall (New York) launched a money markets platform aimed at banks, asset managers and corporations. The service allows financial institutions to automate every step of the money markets trading process, according to FXall. The platform streamlines money markets trading by delivering straight-through processing and workflow tools that enable users to split deposits across multiple banks, the company says.
