Re: What's driving the growth?
Speaking of loan, reverse mortgages has a major role in seniors retirement. It is only accessible to seniors providing them to have some funding for retirement, but the CFPB is looking into the goods to see if any additional legislation could be warranted.

Also, do you think this growth could be cannibalized by automakers looking to finance their own vehicle purchases? I don't see as many ads for zero percent financing through Ford or Toyota nowadays, but seems like only a matter of time until there's a slump and this tactic comes back.

What's driving the growth?
Thought-provoking analysis, John. What do you think are the reasons behind the growth to date -- consumer dissatisfaction with banks, marketing/positioning by CUs, better processing by CUs? You recommend credit unions invest in technology that will improve and streamline processing, so it sounds like there is room for improvement in that regard. Also, do you see banks (community and larger) looking at these trends, seeing that consumer loan business is being grabbed by credit unions, and taking steps to grab it back?
