Digitization should bring simplification, not more complexity
Be concerned if your digitization scheme amounts to adding more complexity to layers of legacy systems. The point here that agility is a big part of what it means to be a digital enterprise. Systems consolidation and agile development approaches should be at least part of the plan.

Agreed, and this reality underscores that a big data/analytics strategy cannot be viewed as a discrete project, it is the foundation of just about everything banks aim to do around omnichannel, cross-selling, compliance, etc. -- and at the same time, digital banking requires more than improving your mobile app.
