I think the need for "real time" product introduction is a very interesting next frontier. That will require not just speed & flexibility, but also big data capabilities to spot those opportunities quickly.

Life insurance companies are the insurers most similar to banks. It's interesting how many of the bank pain points are also being felt in life insurance: product speed-to-market, fear of change, regulatory pressure.
