The one time I made an EMV chip and pin transaction in Canada I had to have the cashier walk me through what I was doing. That definitely isn't going to be realistic solution to customer education as millions of Americans have their cards replaced for the migration.

I definitely agree that customer education is going to be a big challenge. If you put a chip and PIN card in the hands of the average consumer and told them to go buy something with it, they'd have a lot of questions for you.
