Michael Lindsey's innovative ways not only earned him recognition from BS&T, they also earned him a promotion. In the past year Lindsey became the head of Tupelo, Miss.-based BancorpSouth's retail banking division, which encompasses everything from Internet and mobile banking to the content center, product development and research, and sales management.
According to Lindsey, he has spent most of his time working with BancorpSouth's regional presidents to integrate the silos within the retail banking division to meet the bank's growth and profitability objectives. But he plans to turn his attention to the sales organization in the coming year.
"I will focus a large part of my time on changing the emphasis of our sales culture and incentive system to better match the economic value of the products and services being incented," Lindsey explains. "One of the important parts of the project will be identifying software and developing interfaces that will help us track sales efficiently and cost effectively."
