Enabling Efficient Business Growth

Three strategic themes will dominate the 2007 IT agenda with the goal of enabling efficient business growth: leverage, integration and customer focus.

IT leverage demands an enterprisewide approach to business and technology initiatives. Abundant leverage opportunities exist in risk management, compliance, payments and delivery channels. These will remain at the top of the IT priority list for years to come.

Additionally, banks operate a number of disparate operating platforms and have an abundance of data. Integrating platforms and figuring out which data is relevant are big challenges, but success in these areas can meaningfully improve operating efficiency and the level of customer focus.

To be effective, customer focus strategies require a challenging combination of people, cultural change and changes to business processes. Using the foundation of IT integration and leverage, banks can make it easier for customers to do business with them.
