Chase announced Tuesday that it will open 90 new branches in California, bringing approximately 1,200 jobs to the state and effectively extending Chase's reach in California to more than 800 branches and nearly 3,000 ATMs.

LOS ANGELES, April 28, 2010 — Chase announced Tuesday that it will open 90 new branches in California, bringing approximately 1,200 jobs to the state and effectively extending Chase's reach in California to more than 800 branches and nearly 3,000 ATMs.

Of the new branches Chase is set to open this year, 35 will be in Northern California, with about 50 in Southern California. The number breaks down to more than 10 branches in a number of large metropolitan areas in the state.

"California is an important and growing market for Chase and we will continually invest in the people, facilities and technology needed to serve California consumers and businesses well," Pablo Sanchez, who manages Chase's branch network in the western U.S. said in a release.

Chase employs about 17,000 people in California.
