ING Direct has deployed Silver Tail Systems' Forensics and Mitigation products to protect its website from online fraud. The software provides detection behavior analytics on all website traffic on its public facing website, which receives an average of 250,000 visitors a day.
After evaluating several website security vendors, ING Direct selected Silver Tail Systems' solution for its behavior analytics technology, which is designed to detect suspicious website activity before customer data is compromised.
"Silver Tail Systems' Forensics product enables us to identify and shut down potentially fraudulent events in minutes versus hours," said Rudy Wolfs, chief customer service officer and chief information officer for ING Direct. "During the three months since it was implemented the ROI has been impressive."
Silver Tail's behavior analytics is intended to detect fraud that beats authentication (like Man in the Browser where the criminal uses the victims' own PCs to access the victims' accounts) and organized crime. Its rules engine lets fraud analysts write rules of web session behaviors.
