Pyxis Set To Support iPhone Configuration

Pyxis Mobile has extended its Application Studio solution to include configuration support for Apple's iPhone.

Pyxis Mobile, a Waltham, Mass.-based provider of wireless applications to banks and other financial services firms, has announced that its Application Studio solution has been extended to support the Apple iPhone, according to a press release.

Application Studio users can now configure a single mobile application that runs natively on iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile smartphones, Pyxis says. The solution allows Pyxis clients to deliver applications that leverage those devices' cameras, built-in GPS capabilities and other inherent features. With the addition of the iPhone to its roster of supported devices, Pyxis Mobile's packaged and custom-configured applications now run on 88% of smartphones sold in North America in 2009, the company says.

"Smartphone use is expanding rapidly and market-leading businesses are targeting these powerful devices to empower their employees and project their brands," Todd Christy, co-founder and president of Pyxis Mobile, said in a press release. "Our customers demand usability, speed, security, and innovative branding. We now deliver these critical requirements to their employees, partners, and consumers at a lower cost and faster time-to-market."
