Executive Changes

Norm Balthasar named senior executive vice president and chief operating officer for Fiserv, four other promoted to division presidents; Anthony T. Anzevino appointed Banking & Investment Banking Industry Group leader for KPMG's New York Financial Services practice; Matt Semrad named chief operating officer for APPRO Systems.

Norm Balthasar was named to the newly created position of senior executive vice president and chief operating officer for Fiserv, Brookfield, Wis. Balthasar was part of the management team at the founding of Fiserv in 1984 and, most recently, was president and chief operating officer of the Fiserv Financial Institution Group. At the same time, Fiserv created four new operating groups from its former Financial Institution Group and promoted division presidents to lead those operations. The other promotions include: Rodney Poskochil, president of the Bank Systems and eProducts Group; Pat Foy, president of the Bank Servicing Group; James Puzniak, president of the Lending Systems and Services Group; Ken Acheson, president of the Item Processing Group; and Doug Craft, senior vice president and group chief financial officer.

Anthony T. Anzevino has been appointed to the newly created position of Banking & Investment Banking Industry Group leader for KPMG's New York Financial Services practice. He is based at KPMG's New York offices. Anzevino has been with KPMG for 16 years, serving as a partner for the last five years, all with responsibility for client service in the banking and investment banking industries. He is a licensed accountant in New York and a member of the board of directors of the Securities Industry Association's Financial Management Division.

Matt Semrad has been named chief operating officer for APPRO Systems, a Baton Rouge, La.-based provider of automated credit risk management and loan origination technologies for the lending industry. Semrad brings fifteen years of consulting, operations management and eBusiness experience with global 1000 companies to his new position. Semrad began his career with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) where he gained world-class experience in large-scale application development and implementation practices. Subsequently, Semrad has held senior leadership positions with Atos-Origin, BSG Alliance/IT, and Experio Solutions.
