Man Arrested for Depositing Chase-Issued Check at Local Chase Branch

Chase demonstrates how not to win customer loyalty in an epic failure of customer service.

There's good customer experience and bad customer experience.

And then there's getting arrested for attempting to cash a check issued by your bank at one of the very same bank's branches.

Ikenna Njoku, a 28-year-old construction worker and new home owner in Auburn, Wash., last year made the mistake of cashing a $8,463.21 cashiers check issued by JP Morgan Chase Bank at his local Chase Bank branch. Njoku tells King 5 News the tragic tale.

To be fair to the Chase teller who called the cops, Njoku had received the check because his account had previously been closed due to overdraft. Of course, it was a Chase Bank-issued check. And the innocent man probably didn't have to spend so much time in the clink that, by the time he was free, his car had already been towed by the bank, impounded and sold.
