ABN AMRO has installed divine MindAlign, a collaboration and knowledge-sharing tool, for use by 2,500 of its employees.
The product, from divine, a Chicago-based content management software company, combines chat, instant messaging and access to previous information and knowledge.
divine MindAlign is designed to improve the quality of communication internally while decreasing the dependence on e-mail.
ABN AMRO is using it to create global forums where information and ideas can be exchanged in real-time.
The product, which is already in use at ABN AMRO offices in 17 countries, will eventually be expanded to offices in 45 countries.
ABN AMRO chose divine MindAlign to collaborate both internally and with clients and partners. The product's ease-of-use and feature set were the deciding factors for the bank.
"The take up of divine's MindAlign was very quick. Our staff found the product both intuitive and something that could immediately help increase revenues," according to Andy Konchan, director of e-commerce at Chicago-based ABN AMRO.
