Huntington Punches Above Its Weight Online

Huntington Bancshares site ranked sixth in Keynote Systems latest Banker Scorecard.

Huntington Bancshares, ranks 23rd among U.S. banks by assets, but has once again been ranked in the Top 10 for Internet banking, an honor held since 2003. Huntington has the sixth best banking site, according to the first quarter 2009 Banker Scorecard from Keynote Systems, a San Mateo, Calif., firm that rates financial sites.

Columbus, Ohio-based, which has $55 billion in assets has been a pioneer in mobile banking, rolled out text alerts earlier this month.

Huntington's new CEO Stephen Steinour told BS&T recently that "Huntington is a third of the size of the last bank I was at [Citizens Financial Group in Providence, Rhode Island; $162 billion in assets] and has the same technology and robustness, which is unusual."

Commenting on Huntington's recent Scorecard showing Mary Navarro, regional banking group president at Huntington, said, "We continue to invest in technology that improves service and offers convenience to our customers whether they are banking online, on the phone or at our banking offices."
