Citigroup announced today that it has hired Christy wyatt, a former Motorola executive, to head up its consumer online, mobile and ATM banking business, according to published reports. Wyatt will join the bank's global consumer technology group in August.
Wyatt has worked at a number of tech companies including Apple, Palm and Sun Microsystems. She most recently served as the senior vice president and general manager of Motorola Mobility's enterprise business unit up until Google's acquisition of Motorola.
The move comes as customer adoption of mobile devices is driving increased demand for mobile banking services, putting pressure on banks to upgrade their mobile channel and integrate it with other services.
Wyatt replaces Omar Khan, who previously lead Citi's mobile consumer services, but recently left to become a co-CEO of NQ Mobile, a Chinese security software manufacturer.
