PayPal saw a 516 percent increase in its mobile payment volume on Black Friday as compared to the same day in 2010, PayPal Shopping Specialist Claudia Lombana wrote in a blog.
The e-payments firm also reported a 149-percent increase in mobile payment volume on Black Friday as compared to a normal Friday, and found that the hour between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. PST was the busiest mobile shopping hour during the day.
New York, Houston, Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago were the cities that made the most mobile purchases through PayPal, the firm said.
