Caja de Extremadura Using Digipass 810 Card Readers

Spanish bank Caja de Extremadura is now using Digipass 810 personal card reader from Vasco Data Security (Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) to secure its online banking solution Servicash. Caja de Extremadura is the first bank in Spain to distribute EMV CAP certified card readers to its retail customers.

The bank has deployed the Digipass 810 card readers to give its customers a more secure online banking experience. Digipass 810 is also used by Caja de Extremadura's employees to log on to the company's corporate VPN; allowing them to securely access the bank's network anywhere at any given time without needing to install additional hard- or software on end-users' computers.

According to Vasco, the Digipass 810 can be delivered with a variety of applications for the MasterCard SecureCode (CAP), Visa Dynamic Passcode Authentication (DPA), and various domestic and proprietary schemes. The reader leverages the security of chip cards to store secrets and for secure computing.
