By integrating its cash management service with its image statement provider, BankAtlantic has created a portal through which business customers can view images of checks.

The new service, which is powered by technology from Fundtech, enables businesses to retrieve images themselves in a timelier manner. As a result, the bank's customers will be able to expedite cash management decisions, which will result in greater efficiencies, reduced check fraud and improved customer service.

"We are continuously striving to increase the functionality of our cash management services," according to Anthony A. Gautney, senior vice president and manger of cash management at Florida-based BankAtlantic.

The service enables customers to retrieve images early the next morning rather than wait for a fax or statement in the mail. "This will enable them to significantly increase processing efficiencies," said Gautney.

In addition to the check imaging portal, Fundtech provides BankAtlantic with a suite of bank-branded cash management services, including CashLink Electronic Banking, through its Fundtech Connect ASP environment.

BankAtlantic also uses Fundtech's PAYplus browser-based payment system for processing funds transfers. According to Michael Sgroe, COO at Fundtech, "Offering increased functionality and greater efficiencies is critical in today's competitive banking marketplace."
