Citizens' Choice: Getronics

Citizens Bank (Providence, R.I.) has selected a teller system from Getronics (Billerica, Mass.) for its 1,500-plus branches, including approximately 700 new branches from its acquisition of Charter One.

Commerzbank und IBM

Commerzbank AG (Frankfurt) selected IBM (Armonk, N.Y.) as its storage technology vendor and will replace its existing infrastructure with hardware from IBM and networking from Brocade (San Jose, Calif.). The bank will gain 450 terabytes of storage disk space, along with storage virtualization capabilities.

Citibank to Retrofit ATMs

Citibank (New York) will retrofit its ATM network across North America from the existing cathode-ray terminal (CRT) screens to liquid-crystal display (LCD) technology. Horizon Technology (Lake Forest, Calif.) will provide the customized replacement kits for the switch-over.

M&T Relies on Relizon

M&T Bank (Buffalo, N.Y.) signed a five-year, $3.5 million contract for document management services with Relizon (Dayton, Ohio) to help bank employees order and manage documents from their desktops.

Frost Goes to Princeton

Frost Bank (San Antonio) will offer "pay-anyone" online bill payment using technology from Princeton eCom (Princeton, N.J.).

BofA Gets Into Auto Loans

Bank of America (Charlotte, N.C.) purchased KeyCorp's $990 million prime indirect auto loan portfolio. Cleveland-based KeyCorp is exiting the indirect auto lending business. Also, BofA is implementing DealerTrack's (Melville, N.Y.) online credit application and contracting system for a national rollout this year.

Key Acquires Payroll

KeyCorp (Cleveland) acquired Bellevue, Wash.-based Payroll Online to provide Web-based payroll, benefits, HR, and time and attendance processing solutions to corporates, mid-markets, and small- and medium-size businesses.

Amex Goes to Russia

Russian Standard Bank (Moscow), one of Russia's leading consumer lenders, will issue the first ruble-denominated American Express card as the exclusive issuer in Russia. RSB also will issue a dollar-denominated version.

IndyMac Renews Fidelity

Pasadena, Calif.-based IndyMac Bank signed a multiyear renewal for an outsourcing contract with Jacksonville, Fla.-based Fidelity Information Services for the vendor's MISER core processing systems, along with business intelligence, online collections and safe deposit box services.

Regions Selects DI

Regions Financial (Birmingham, Ala.) will use technology from Digital Insight (Calabasas, Calif.) for its online corporate banking services.
