"Concerned Citizens" Start Collection to Bail Out Wall St.

Two comedians who don't share the House Finance Committee Chairman's conviction that a revised financial bailout bill will pass today, took matters into their own hands, as this video shows.

Jason Selvig and John Anderson, members of a troupe, whose credits include work for MTV, took up a collection for the bailout, after it was defeated at the start of this week . A revised version of the now $800-billion bailout, including raising the limits on FDIC-insured deposits and giving corporate tax breaks, goes to the vote today. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), the House Finance Committee Chairman, today expressed confidence that members would support it—having witnessed the stock market's biggest ever daily decline on Monday, when the first draft of the bailout bill was rejected.

In the interim, we caught up with the bailout comedians on Wednesday. They were in Manhattan's Union Square, posing as panhandling investment bankers—and being verbally attacked by the occasional passerby who took their solicitations seriously.

They posted a video of their antics on YouTube yesterday evening and, as of this morning, which more than 150 people had viewed by this morning. The comedy sketch group hails from Palm Beach, Florida, hence it's name, North Palm Wrestling. The members now reside in Brooklyn, combining their comedy careers with 'real jobs'.
